Is the Post Office open tomorrow? (Thursday)
COVID-19 and the Post Office
The USPS stated March 19, 2020 in relation to COVID-19 that “the Postal Service is an essential service for purposes of its compliance with state or municipality shelter-in-place orders or other social distancing restrictions.” Mail will continue to be delivered. Closed businesses can request a temporary hold. At this time, the USPS intends to keep all post office locations open to foot traffic, but users should practice social distancing.
However, the USPS also acknowledged that “continuity of operations” could be affected by a pandemic, depending on the level of events in certain area, to a degree that ‘“it would be impossible to predict.”
PostOfficeOpen.com recommends checking your local Post Office and the USPS Service Alerts web page for updates on any disruptions, and we will also update our site as soon as we receive new information.
